OFT Racing’s test riders spent this past winter testing our new “Moto-r Kill” handle bar mounted tether/kill switch, and we now have the final "plug & ride" design - ridden, bashed, and proven for you, our loyal customers!
The OFT Racing “Moto-r Kill” kit plugs directly into the factory wiring harness with no slicing and dicing of your OEM wiring harness. We have designed it using OEM Yamaha weatherproof connections and a completely sealed Bosch style relay and connector. Installation of the OFT Moto-r Kill is nothing short of idiot proof! Unplug the OEM harness, then plug in the OFT Moto-r Kill harness. If for some reason you need to remove or bypass the tether kit, changing the sled back to stock form is as easy as unplugging one or two connectors and plugging them back in to the OEM harness.
Designed to compete with, and surpass more expensive competitors products, The Moto-r Kill tether kit features the race-ready and off-road proven tee handled Pro Armor kill switch assembly. The Pro Armor switch provides extremely easy "gloves on" operation, and bullet proof, all weather performance. With Pro Armor’s positive clip latching, you never need to worry about a cheap “rubber plug” not seating or trying to thread a needle sized clip through a pinhole with your thick gloves on as with our competitors.
There is the matter of installing the switch on the handlebars, but the only tools required for that are a 10mm hex wrench and a 3mm allen wrench. You may also need one or more of your favorite cold beverages to aid in the install process, but unfortunately, those are not included in the kit.
The tether switch will mount on either 7/8", or 1-1/8" handle bars, and two versions of the kit are available:
The first version bypasses the OEM handlebar kill switch ( no more falling on to the kill switch while pulling off that “soon-to-be legendary” maneuver :D)
The second version maintains the stock functionality of the OEM handlebar kill switch. (Sometimes, we at OFT fear change too!)
The Moto-r Kill was also designed to function as a “full time” kill switch. This means that if you choose to pull the clip and walk away, your battery will be fine – no amperage draw with the clip removed! It’s like a second ignition key… steal this sled beeotch… I dare ya!
