With NB Now Producing "ETHANOL" blended gas in grades of 87 reg and 88 Plus.
It will Burn Hotter in your engine also Cleaner. In any snowmobile or small engine this is a not a good thing.
Remember your older 2 strokes pre 1998 ran on 88 octance fuel.. Some 4stroke's stroke snowmobiles. Will not Run correctly on this fuel unless you jet up. it can cause your motor to burn a piston. Yamaha Says anything more then 5% Blend to jet up. That is if you have a Carburetor motor.
If you own a pre 2006 2stroke. It's advisable to run super only! And to carry a bootle of Octane booster for those back woods fill up. Until everyone gets on board with the new fuel supply.
Fuel lines if run with Ethanol will maybe need to be changed. Check with your dealer.
Fuel Filter's will need to be changed more often
. Add "Stabilizer" to your gas if your machine sits any longer then 30 days.
Ethanol Fuel will GUM and turn green if let sit around.
If you noticed your fuel mileage as late going down. It's due to the Ethanol Fuel blend. It has up to 36% less energy and will Run hotter to power your Car, Truck. Etc. If you tow a Trailer like most sledders , Atv's , Power boats, Travel trailer. Due to the high load on the engine this could burn it down.
Make sure you run "Super" in your machines Or add octane booster. Lawn mower, Whipper snippers, Kids got carts, Anything that if more then 10years old.
I hope this message will save some people a lot of grief.
